Local Youth to Pockets Kid’s Advisory Board
Karsyn Hayes, 7, of the Mississippi Conference has been named to the 2017 Kids’ Advisory Board for Pockets® Magazine. Her mother broke the news on Facebook. With help from her mom, Hayes applied for the position and was selected. Pockets is a 48-page devotional magazine for children ages 6-12, published by The Upper Room®. It is designed for the personal use of children to help them grow in their relationship with God, and includes full-color photos, stories, poems, games, mission-focused activities, daily scripture readings, non-fiction features and contributions from children who read the magazine.
Pockets receives regular feedback from a Kids’ Advisory Board. Members of the board serve for one year, and they evaluate each issue, suggest themes for future issues, and give input on various questions throughout the year.
Hayes is the daughter of Aron Hayes and the Rev. Tara Hayes, who serves as director of the Wesley Foundation at Alcorn State University. For more information about Pockets, go to http://pockets.upperroom.org/.
