Our November issue includes three wonderful poems written by Pockets readers, including this one:

by Isabelle “Julianna” Perez, 9,

For the moon when it grows big, golden, fat, and round,

For new books to read when I’m snuggled in my bed,

For new paints and crisp white canvases just waiting for me to paint on them!

For my Abuela’s special and delicious soup,

And making paper beads with my MaMaie,

For yard sales and thrift shops with hidden treasures,

For being able to read and write.

For my church, school, teachers, and friends

For having two families—

One Spanish and one American,

Most of all for God’s wonderful love

and for so many other blessings God has given me!
