10 Ways to Make the World More Peaceful

  1. Pay attention to your words. Words can be powerful! Try to use words that are helpful and kind.
  2. Focus on forgiveness. Be willing to forgive and to apologize when you need to.
  3. When you disagree, try to see things from the other person’s point of view.
  4. Don’t shout at people. Ask questions. Listen. Give your opinion in a calm way.
  5. Speak up for others. When someone’s being treated badly, say something. (And never be afraid to ask for help from an adult if you know someone is being mistreated!)
  6. Treat every person you meet as someone who is deeply loved by God, just as you are.
  7. Don’t pass on rumors, gossip, or negative comments you hear from others.
  8. Ask for help when you can’t resolve a conflict on your own.
  9. Don’t lash out. It’s normal and completely okay to be angry sometimes, but take a breath (or a few breaths) before you respond.
  10. Pray for peace—in your home, in your school, in your community, everywhere in our world.
